Sweet Lemon Valentine's Day

One rosy morning this week I gathered the ingredients together to make lemon marmalade.  Jennifer inspired me with her tangelo marmalade. Like a sailor scared of getting scurvy, I have been desperately hungering for citrus fruit.  Lemons, little orbs of sunshine, in the middle of winter called to me.  I hoped they would chase away the scratchy throat and headache I caught. They didn't or haven't yet at least.  I missed swimming with my friend, Teresa, all week!

My oldest daughter thinks she is the one who caught and brought this virus home.  She, her two oldest daughters, ages eight and six, and I are thankfully the only ones who caught it...and are getting better s.l.o.w.l.y. with a little sneezing and froggy sounding voices and coughs from two of us.

But, thanks to cyberspace I'm not exposing you to our illness by offering you wishes for a Happy Valentine's Day and a lovely week ahead :)

Gracie xx

  4. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Lemon is pretty much yummy any way you serve it up and adds to whatever you put it on. A nice scone would go perfect with your marmalade, along with a hot cup of tea. We've been eating lots of tangerines. They are so sweet right now. Happy Heart Day! Tammy

  9. Are you sure I can't catch that virus from the computer? :)
Orange marmalade---hmmmm, I have a large supply of mandarins on my tree. Maybe I should make some marmalade. Usually I make berry jams and I haven't tried marmalade yet.
I hope you are feeling better now.

  10. I'm really sorry that you caught this last illness.. you have weathered so many of those this winter. Time for you to build up some immunities! I admire you for making the lemon marmalade. I love orange marmalade so much I need to try it. I've really missed you at swimming.. I hope you're better next week. I won't be there on tomorrow as I have a board meeting in the afternoon.
