Winter Project Link Party at Thistlebear: December

Knowing I am invited to Jennifer's party every month this winter is keeping me motivated to keep working on these three projects...and enjoy each one!  Since my November party post, I have only completed three or four rows on the blue Merino wool blanket, four to six rows on the crocheted shawl and maybe ten or more rows on the baby blanket, but each row is progress that has brought me closer to completing each project :)
My favorite chair by our Christmas tree is where my current projects hang out.  I often take the baby blanket with me when running errands in case I have some spare time while waiting  to knit a row or so. I have also added another crochet project that I hope to complete this winter. I purchased a kit from Taci to crochet a pretty lacy edge on a decorative tea towel for my kitchen [or someone else's. :) ]

In the past I have taken a cotton terry tea towel and crocheted a decorative top with cotton yarn forming a buttoned tab one can use to fasten the towel to a rack, but Taci's design is so pretty, I would love to learn to create it myself!

I'm looking forward to seeing how you are coming along with your winter projects and I appreciate your encouragement as I work on mine :)

Wishing you happy creative days!
Gracie xx

  1. Alas, my blanket project hasn't come along at all. I've been too busy making mittens this month. I liked seeing your projects and hearing you bought one of Taci's T-towel kits. I can't wait to see it finished. I so enjoyed hearing about the Christmas pageant with your granddaughters on Teresa's blog. I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it. The memories you are making with those girls are priceless. I hope you're having a lovely weekend my friend. Blessings, Betsy

  2. I'm glad to see you're making progress on all three of your projects. I went to a Christmas party at my son's house in Vancouver this afternoon and got a few rows of my never-ending blanket done while watching the young people have fun. I love how you showed your "nest".. I have one too. I have no idea how people live in a minimalist environment.. lol..

  3. I'm with Teresa. No wonder we get along. I have a cozy nest too where I'm surrounded by all my stuff plus supplies for cozy crafting. No minimalism happening here. I also have lots and lots of projects currently on the go. It's great to be able to throw something in your bag and know you can be happy and productive wherever you may be. Most people here have their head stuck into their phones most of the time which I find to be quite pathetic. Better to spend your time doing something meaningful. Happy holidays!

  4. Well done on making progress. Not much progress on my throw but I have done other things in between. I love the idea of a crochet edge on T towels that would look lovely hanging in the kitchen.

  5. You are making good progress considering the time of year. Taci's towel project looks wonderful. I need to get busy on mine this weekend, oops it is Sunday so that leaves me a lot less time than I thought.
    Hugs to you Gracie,
    Meredith

  6. Hello Gracie, so nice to see the lovely projects you're creating. I'm afraid my knitting is a lost cause since I was trying to knit a sweater for myself and its a disaster. I'm looking forward to starting a blanket which I will thoroughly enjoy. The dish towel kit you bought looks so pretty in its wrapping. Enjoy your Sunday; it's always a joy to read your post. Hugs, Pat

  7. Any sort of progress at this time of year is great as it's such a busy time. I've hardly worked on my blanket at all over the past month but I don't mind, there's plenty of time to work on it once Christmas is done. The tea towel project is lovely, I look forward to seeing how you get on with it.

  12. Hi Gracie, thank you for joining it with my link party! I enjoyed seeing your projects, they are looking great. I love your attitude too, you're taking it slow and that is how you'll get it done. There's no need to rush, just enjoy yourself. I hope you have a good week.

  13. everything looks so lovely Gracie and you seem to have the right attitude to everything. I am glad that the Craft Fair has been and gone and I am tidying everything away. I have done some knitting ( for charity) while I was travelling to see my son and family. I am now trying to prepare the house for Christmas. Hugs Anne x

  14. Progress is indeed progress and when you can have so much pleasure and enjoyment out of the process AND the finished object, life really is good, isn't it?? :-)
I haven't posted my update yet - not sure I'm too late for the party!
