Traveling to the Tulips

Knit night at Taci's Friday night was great fun!  Her sweet dog, Java, honored me by resting her head on my crochet pattern in my lap and letting me snap a photo  :)  Teresa, [see her Field of Tulips post] got a good photo of Taci and Betsy holding one of the gorgeous pineapple tablecloths that Betsy has crocheted.  But I was having so much fun visiting and counting stitches that I did not focus on getting any other photos in focus :(  It is so exciting to me to be in the midst of creative stitchers, appreciating their various interests and skill levels!  Thanks for hostessing us, Taci.

Sunday afternoon most of our family piled into my mini-van and we headed south through rain showers for an hours drive to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.  We passed through woods and farm land and saw cows, sheep, goats,  a tiny waterfall, a river, a stream and a little covered bridge; and I managed to get a few photos of some of all the wonders around us.

And then we saw tulips~~~~~~ecstasy

What are you seeing around you?

  1. Beautiful, fun filled post Gracie! That picture of Taci's dog is so cute. Just look at those eyes. I had a wonderful time too and wish We could all be there every month. The tulips are gorgeous and a great way to spend a few hours with your family.
We had a safe drive back to Spokane with some rain and some sun. Dennis mowed a few lawns for seniors at church after we got home while I unpacked and grocery shopped. Now I'm catching up on blogs and plan to do some crocheting.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  13. Amazing tulips! I had no idea there was such a place in Oregon. The sight of those fields of colours is like eating something delicious. Here our daffodils have just ventured to bloom after a few days of relative warmth. The tulips will be some time yet, though. And what a lovely dog! Such soulful eyes.

  16. Being a dutch woman I have to love tulips, this looks so much like the Keukenhof in the Netherlands. Though I suppose the Keukenhof is much bigger. But here no mountains in the skyline. Enjoy your weekend, groetjes, Gerda

And I have to admit that I am a tad jealous of those wonderful covered bridges you have in the States, we don't have them here...

  20. Those tulip photos are amazing. It is always good to keep your geraniums from one year to the next - it feels like a set of free plants. Well done you! Jo x

  21. My father-in-law and sister-in-law live in the LaConner area. I love going to the Tulip Festival - it's heaven on earth. Last year we were over a bit early and only saw the daffodil fields, which were lovely but not quite the same.
