This Granny's First Granny Square :)

The pattern calls for the square to have a row of black all around.
[  I have to order the black yarn.]

In rereading the directions I realize I skipped over
typing a special decrease instruction which is one excuse for the square being wonkier than it should be :(
But I am excited that I have figured out most of what I need to do.
Progress :)

The following photos are of my Reasons to be Cheerful Journal pages for the week.
Do you have any reasons you want to share for why you felt cheerful this last week?

<3 <3 <3

I hope you have lots of reasons to be cheerful this week!!!

  2. That is a new granny square for me to see.. I look forward to seeing how it all comes together. I also enjoy reading your journal entries.. maybe I should do that as I seem to be a bit depressed right now.. I need to count the blessings I have, not mourn over the blessings that are now gone from me.. ::sigh:; Hugs, T

  4. Love the colors of yarn that you used! Love the little illustrations you fill your happiness journal with...
things that have made me cheerful lately are: ripe blueberries, gooseberries, raspberries; lavender; a trip to the mountains and the thought that I am only about a month away from seeing my daughter and her family.
    Blessings,
    Aimee

I was on facebook's knit and crochet now page and saw a granny type rendition of your afghan square.
Thought you might want to see it.

  9. Congratulations, Gracie! I made a couple granny squares before I learned to knit. I think I could stand to revisit that someday. Yours looks great! I love your notekeeping as well. Beautiful way to commemorate your day. :)

  10. Now that's the one thing I can crochet ... a wonky granny square. Well done, I know what an achievement that first 'Granny' is, if only I'd found making a blanket's worth possible ... I'm sure you'll fare better :D Happy crocheting!

  11. Oh my, Gracie!
What a lather to be in with your blog site! Makes so much more stress and work for you. I am sad to hear that. :(
But, I am so happy to see your site is still here for me to say hi to you. I love your background picture! It is an oasis, isn't it?
I do love your journey-through-cheerfulness journal. It always makes me smile!
Today, I ate a Taco Bell Taco, which I don't usually care for, but it tasted sooo good and my tummy was okay with it! woot-woot! Cheerful, cheerful! Sipping water with crushed ice in it at 3:40 a.m. just makes me immensely happy!
And stopping by to say hello to my new and dear friend, Grace C.
Blessings and love!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo Big squeezy hug!
