Crafting In Season

Welcome to our front porch which is crafting the transitional days from summer to fall by sporting a little burgundy chrysanthemum :)

Come in and see what some members of our household have been crafting: dill pickles, blackberry jam, carrot cake jam, and tomato sauce.  Mmmmmmmm :)

With serious concentration, my older granddaughters and I recently crafted some plastic bead ornaments for Christmas.

The older girls are also crafting [seriously :) ]  some fall birthday presents with their knitting spools,  under their mom's, my oldest daughter's supervision.

On  USA Labor Day, I finished crafting a baby blanket for a baby in the local neonatal unit.  It was fun knitting the blanket with the Bernet Baby Floral Rose acrylic yarn, then crocheting a border until I had used the whole skein of yarn.

My youngest daughter stopped by a local roadside flower stand and brought home these gorgeous dahlias, crafting an end of summer beginning of fall decoration for our dinner table.

When I was out and about several days ago I was surprised to see this tree already crafting so much fall color in a shopping center in Sandy, Oregon.

Then yesterday evening I was so glad a few blocks from our house to once more be able to get this zoomed in view of Mt. Hood.  Mt. Hood was not shrouded in smoke from wildfires, or covered by rainclouds as it was over the weekend. It has already gotten a bit more snow since the last time I saw it, although the snow is still sparser than it usually is during winter and spring.  But our weather is crafting a change in our surroundings .  See the tinge of fall color at the top of the tree in front of Mt. Hood?  

Our front pond looks like a grassy field and not a pond, but the little amount of rain we have received since the beginning of September is promising that the weather is crafting a change in season so that once more we hope to have a pond for water fowl to visit.
