Ahoy You!
How goes your voyage? Before November 2018 disappears I want to share with you some thanks I had in this month on my voyage. First, I am thankful you are here for a visit, and always enjoy and appreciate when you log a comment!
At my Wednesday morning stitching group, I'm thankful to have been gifted with some Simply Soft acrylic yarn to make two preemie blankets. I have just barely started a little ripple blanket, not shown, and I decided to knit a blanket using the Grandma's Dishcloth pattern...so far so good .
During our USA celebration of Thanksgiving, I was thankful to enjoy a meal and some puzzling with family members and a friend. |
When rain clouds lift I am thankful to see a coat of beautiful snow back on Mt. Hood after a hot dry summer that dramatically depleted the snowpack.
When driving around Mt. Hood one day I was thankful to spot this row of gorgeous golden trees.
I was thankful to visit the Good News Gardening Cafe in Hood River, OR.
They offer a limited but luscious menu of food,
and I [that's me seated] enjoyed eating a bowl of soup sitting by this cozy hearth that was already decked out for Christmas!
I am also thankful that our plans to sell the house continue to move forward and I anticipate being settled in a new home by the end of December.
Thinking of our homes prompts me to ponder these verses:
"Lord through all the generations You have been our home!" Psalm 90:1
Jesus replied, "All who love Me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them." John 14:23
"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you so that you will always be with Me where I am. John14:1-2
Grateful,
Gracie xx
Good morning sweet Gracie! It was so wonderful to see your post this morning. I enjoyed all of your pictures today but the one I liked best was the one with you in it. I miss you so much my friend. Of course the photo of Mt Hood is stunning as always. I’m grateful for the moisture we been receiving too. It was such a dry summer. Wishing you a safe and easy move my friend. Blessings always, Betsy
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see you posted on your blog and happy that you'll be in your new home soon. I hope to be able to come and visit and see how you've set it up. We're in the middle of making changes in our house now that the headcount is 4 instead of 8. I hope to be well by next week, maybe we can do lunch and swim!! Have a good weekend my friend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was good to read your blog post this morning. Glad you enjoyed your thanksgiving with your family. Puzzles sound fun to work on. We usually play games. Glad your house sold and you find a good comfy place to live. My Hood is so pretty now with it's blanket of snow. Loved the scriptures you share too. Hugs and blessings my friend.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we are nearing the end of the year. It's wonderful that the yarn you were gifted will be made into beautiful handmade blankets that will then be gifted to little ones who will benefit from the warmth they provide. That restaurant sure is looking festive with those bright red chairs. Always lovely to see gorgeous Mt. Hood. Congrats on the move.
ReplyDeleteI am glad your house sale is progressing and that there is something colourful on your needles. I was warmed to see the verse John 14 as we chose this for the reading at my dads funeral in May. Thank you for your post. Jo x
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your post and share in all your joy and thankfulness Gracie. I do have much to be thankful for though DH and I are suffering at the moment with a nasty virus. Thankful though that our youngest son and family are just around the corner and keep checking on us. I missed going out today for Afternoon Tea with dear friends, they kindly bought me a gift back and postponed the Afternoon Tea part as planned until I am better, so thankful for such good friends. Take care dear friend. Anne x
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of Mt Hood Gracie. I’m keeping everything crossed that your moving plans go well. B x
ReplyDeleteLoved your photos, especially the one of Mt. Hood. Are you moving out of Oregon? Somehow, I didn't realize you lived "next door"! Good luck with your move; hope settling in goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see your post. I'm truly grateful for you, dear Gracie. I hope your home plans continue on a good path and you are settled in your new home before year's end. Hugs, Sharon
