Ahoy, Mates!
1. This Saturday I am planning to attend a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for friends. They do not want or need gifts, but I thought they might not mind having an ornament to remind them of their Golden Anniversary, so I used
Teresa's great pattern to crochet a gold heart for them. Teresa makes so many beautiful things including her blog!
2. Much to my surprise and delight I received these wonderful gifts from
Deborah's giveaway on her blog. She is a talented artist in many different mediums and I admire her work. Visiting with her through her blog is a treat!
3. I have finished a dishcloth using the pretty yarn,
Betsy sent me, and I'm glad I have enough yarn left to make several more.
4. This preemie blanket has six more rows for me to knit. Do you think I should crochet a border around it? Thanks to those of you who suggested what colors I should use for my quilt squares between the blue lighthouse pattern squares. I am going to have to shop for some burnt red and maybe some white material, too...hmmmm and there is the backing...
5.See what's left of the sled launch some of the menfolk in our household shoveled up several weeks ago...it is our own little Mt. Hood in our front yard! [Mt. Hood has been hiding under clouds lately, and I miss seeing her.]

ReplyDeleteI'm loving that dishcloth. I can only find boring white or beige dishcloth cotton so I am very jealous.

I'm glad you like the dishcloth cotton, it sure did knit up pretty didn't it? And your baby blanket looks wonderful. I think I would try to crochet a border around it. We still have lots and lots of snow in our yard and lots of ice too. I wish I lived where you did and it would all be gone. Have a lovely lovely weekend my friend.

I don't think I would crochet around the knitted blanket as it might stretch the edges or constrict them. But you could try it and see! I will see you soon in the chilly waters at the pool. I was surprised it was still around! i have some variegated yarn from Betsy too and I will use it in my first project of the year,hopefully tomorrow. The knitted blanket is pretty and have fun finishing your quilt. I saw Mt Hood today as I drove across town to post office. So pretty! Thanks for sharing your projects on your blog! Love your little gold heart...that will be a very sweet gift (and a great pattern from clever Teresa)! Your gifts from your blog friend are so special too. The lovely blanket would be enhanced by a border I think.....I crocheted a shell border round a knitted shawl recently and was very pleased with it. Well that golden crocheted heart is a great idea. My parents have a 60th wedding anniversary coming up. I might have to crochet them an ornament. I would put a border on the blanket. I think they look more finished that way. I am making bags out of the "I love this cotton" yarn. I love it. And those dishcloths are the best. Just don't throw them in the drier. They don't last long when you do. I'm done with snow!
