Ahoy, Mates!
2. Much to my surprise and delight I received these wonderful gifts from Deborah's giveaway on her blog. She is a talented artist in many different mediums and I admire her work. Visiting with her through her blog is a treat!
3. I have finished a dishcloth using the pretty yarn, Betsy sent me, and I'm glad I have enough yarn left to make several more.
4. This preemie blanket has six more rows for me to knit. Do you think I should crochet a border around it? Thanks to those of you who suggested what colors I should use for my quilt squares between the blue lighthouse pattern squares. I am going to have to shop for some burnt red and maybe some white material, too...hmmmm and there is the backing...
5.See what's left of the sled launch some of the menfolk in our household shoveled up several weeks ago...it is our own little Mt. Hood in our front yard! [Mt. Hood has been hiding under clouds lately, and I miss seeing her.]
Thanks for setting up our Five on Friday link, Amy. I look forward to seeing what Fives other folks publish 🤗
Gracie 💞
You have a mountain for sledging dolls! What a lovely giveaway surprise. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the golden heart; what a good idea. A border would look lovely round the blanket, just to give it a finished look. Sounds like you have been having a very crafty week. B x
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that dishcloth. I can only find boring white or beige dishcloth cotton so I am very jealous.
ReplyDeleteThe golden heart is very pretty indeed. You have been very busy, lovely crafts. I have never seen self striping cotton yarn, it makes a humble dishcloth really quite exiting. Have a lovely weekend. Hope Mt Hood will show through the clouds for you. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful lot of goodies you received! Always nice to receive something fun in the post. Love your dishcloth - pretty colours! The blanket looks really nice. I think a border would finish it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHappy Five on Friday
Thank you for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteI usually love snow, but not when my husband isn't around to shovel. More snow coming this weekend!
I LOVE Yarn! What a great package to receive :)

ReplyDeleteLovely projects and I'm sure your friends will love the crocheted heart.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty pretty heart Gracie. I just know your friends will enjoy it and will remind them of you every time they see it. I love your giveaway package too. Lots of goodies in there. I'm glad you like the dishcloth cotton, it sure did knit up pretty didn't it? And your baby blanket looks wonderful. I think I would try to crochet a border around it. We still have lots and lots of snow in our yard and lots of ice too. I wish I lived where you did and it would all be gone. Have a lovely lovely weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Beth
Your gold heart is wonderful! And what a lovely give-away package you received. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love how your golden heart turned out and thanks for the shout out! You've really been busy and accomplishing a LOT! I don't think I would crochet around the knitted blanket as it might stretch the edges or constrict them. But you could try it and see! I will see you soon in the chilly waters at the pool. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThe gold heart is just the perfect gift. GREAT IDEA. I'll bet they hang it somewhere where it is seen all year! Love the premie blanket. If you haven't knit with frolicking feet before, I think you are going to love it. I do
ReplyDeleteYour little Mount Hood is too cute! I hope the anniversary celebration for your friends will be wonderful, the heart is very pretty indeed. You received a lovely package in the post, bloggers are the nicest people aren't they. Your knitting is of course beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteYour little gold heart is the perfect anniversary gift, Gracie! I'm sure they will treasure it! Love all your beautiful handwork. The preemie blanket and dish cloth have such wonderful colors. So lovely to win the giveaway. Your quilt is beautiful, too! I like your very own Mt. Hood, too. So fun! Hope you have a lovely weekend! xx K
ReplyDeleteI saw a mound of snow in a parking lot here recently! I was surprised it was still around! i have some variegated yarn from Betsy too and I will use it in my first project of the year, hopefully tomorrow. The knitted blanket is pretty and have fun finishing your quilt. I saw Mt Hood today as I drove across town to post office. So pretty! Thanks for sharing your projects on your blog! Happy weekend my friend!
ReplyDeleteI think the premie blanket would look great with a crocheted border around it! Your mention of making that blanket takes me back a long time to the time our youngest was born 2 months prematurely and how tiny he was.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Aimee
Love the Golden Heart, perfect for 50 years.
ReplyDeleteA golden heart is a perfect gift for 50 years of marriage! It's quite an accomplishment. Your knitting projects are very pretty. The miniature Mt. Hood looks like it will be disappearing quickly. Not much cold weather in sight, I think. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour heart of gold is a wonderful idea and I'm sure it will be treasured. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy!! Lovely gifts you made and received. Enjoy your new mountain view:)
ReplyDeleteLoved the gold heart what a lovely memento for such a special occasion. I am in the process of making some face cloths and dishcloths ready for my new home, love the pattern and yarn you are using. Have a great day.
ReplyDeletehi Gracie, great to see your makes. I adore the heart, what a thoughtful idea. As for the blanket, I definitely think you should add a border. Borders make a blanket. Jo x
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a little of the snow left. Summer is coming way too soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gift the gold heart is for people who already have everything they need, Gracie.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love the dishcloth too - beautiful yarn
Hope all is well with you. xo
Love your little gold heart...that will be a very sweet gift (and a great pattern from clever Teresa)! Your gifts from your blog friend are so special too. The lovely blanket would be enhanced by a border I think.....I crocheted a shell border round a knitted shawl recently and was very pleased with it. I hope you have more happy and cheerful moments this week dear Gracie......and spring is definitely on its way x

Well that golden crocheted heart is a great idea. My parents have a 60th wedding anniversary coming up. I might have to crochet them an ornament. I would put a border on the blanket. I think they look more finished that way. I am making bags out of the "I love this cotton" yarn. I love it. And those dishcloths are the best. Just don't throw them in the drier. They don't last long when you do. I'm done with snow!
ReplyDeleteCindy
I love the gold heart - what a thoughtful idea,
ReplyDeleteYes I think I would crochet a border.
Still no snow here !!
That is a pretty dishcloth.
Lovely gifts that you received. Hugs Anne x
Hello Gracie
ReplyDeleteThe gold heart is perfect for your friends 50th wedding celebrations.
I love your premier blanket - no need for a boarder as it gets tucked in - up to you!
Many thankyous for your visits - loved meeting you at Five on Friday Gracie!
Take care
Shane
What a lovely gold heart! And what a nice giveaway haul - you'll like that Frolicking Feet. I got to work with some for a magazine project and it was beautifully soft and sproingy.
ReplyDeleteKnitted dishcloths are the best! Even nicer than crochet ones. :)
Yes to the border on the preemie blanket. It needs a little something to frame those lovely colours.
Beautiful golden heart Gracie and sure they will love....I really enjoy visiting here and those cloths are so colourful 💜💜
