Ahoy Mates!
Posting on Amy's Five on Friday on Love Made My Home and on Jennifer from Thistlebear's Winter Project Link Party I have five confessions to share with you about my progress with Anastasia Robert's Ruby Shawl pattern I am crocheting.
One: To see when I started crocheting the shawl click HERE.
Two: Because I admired two shawls Teresa has made with Anastasia's pattern, I decided to try it and have kept at it sporadically for y.e.a.r.s.
Three: Deborah Norville has some beautiful colorways in her yarn and I love the autumnal tones I chose to use for my shawl. I also love the softness and drape of the yarn, but it does split easily which prompts me to fuss a bit.
Four: I have four skeins of yarn left to finish the shawl.
Five: [Secretly I am hoping to finish this shawl before winter 2016 starts!]
Have you checked out what others have posted on Five on Friday and the Winter Project Link Party?

Looking so pretty - hours' work!
ReplyDeleteYour shawl is beautiful Gracie! It doesn't matter how long it takes as long as you're enjoying it. :-). I so wanted to take part in the winter link party but blogger won't let me post. It keeps deleteing everything as I type it. I'm almost ready to give up blogging. As long as blogger lets me, I'll keep commenting though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Gracie, that is looking just wonderful! I hope you concentrate on it so you can finish so you can enjoy it's soft warmth around your neck this winter. I just adore mine! I actually love all of my shawls.. I can't believe it's taken me until my 60s to make shawls for myself. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I'm not surprised it's taken so long! It looks gorgeous, such beautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of your shawl are lovely Gracie. Some projects are slow burners and sometimes they hide at the bottom of the WIP basket. x
ReplyDeleteI love that this post was all about CROCHET! I love to crochet :) I hope you can stop by:

Gracie the colours are so amazing when you drape them like that, I have only ever seen it in your basket or bag. Keep going Girl, you'll get there. Jo x
ReplyDeleteGracie, I love the colors of your shawl. I just finished a shawl using a cotton yarn and I liked the pattern so much, I've started another using a wool. I hope I'll get photos up next week. Your shawl will be finished when it thinks it should! I have faith that all my projects know they will be finished ... sooner or later ... I can't buy another else to make until they are! Ha! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha! Oops! You weren't kidding. It has been a work in progress for years. But it looks now like you are nearing the finish. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteShawls are my absolute favourite. Yours is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGracie, That is a beautiful shawl! It will be a wonderful addition to your winter wardrobe--giving you some color for the gray days.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your photo my first thought was "Yay! She finally finished it! It's beautiful!" Then I read your text ... you have more to go?!? Well, it looks wonderful so far and will look more wonderful still if you add to it. :)
ReplyDeleteMr. M and I were in Oregon for a day last month, and I thought of you and Teresa when we saw Mt. Hood. I wish I could have seen you both! Hope your autumn is going well.
Hi Gracie. I love this shawl! And I too, enjoy that yarn. I have been so bad about blogging. I don't know why really, other than Insta Gram has become so easy to as a quick alternative. I seem to be busier than ever lately. Disposable time is just so rare.
ReplyDeleteI always feel so warm and fuzzy reading your lovely comments on my blog. I do so miss visiting all of my blogging friends regularly, and I shall try harder to do it.
Hope this finds you well.
Love,
Kris
splitty yarn yuck !!!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful...I just love those colours and as you rightly say very Autumnish (ok I just made up that word). There can't be much more left to do I imagine it looks quite long as it is.
ReplyDeletekeep well
