Have you had fun this past week? I hope so! Since I last checked in with you, I am grateful to realize that I have had a lot of fun and want to share some of it with you in this post.
One: On July 4th we gathered with family and friends at a home on the Clackamas River close by to celebrate the birth of the USA. The kids had great fun in a little bouncy house, some went swimming, some played crochet, some played with various flying objects, there was yummy food and the evening ended with watching fireworks.
Two: On Wednesday Teresa and I drove up the Columbia River Gorge. We loved seeing the blue sky, wild flowers, and some sailboats that members of the youth Sailing Foundation had been racing. We had good hamburgers for lunch and were able to swim at the gorgeous Bonneville Spa pool for an hour.
Three: Mount Hood peeked out from under clouds as I drove around our area during the week. The first view is off of Highway 212 in the Damascus area. The second view is zoomed in from 302nd street near our home.
Four: It was very exciting to me to see our Holly Hock start to bloom this past week! The magenta blooms are so pretty and bouquets of Joseph's Coat roses are amazing. Our generous neighbor brought us lots of Marionberries! They are delicious!
Five: We are hosting a wedding at our house this Saturday and I have been experimenting making napkin rings with Martha Stewart Glitter Eyelash, just single crocheting around rings. One of the ladies in my Wednesday morning stitching group showed me a sock she is making on 9inch circular needles...another project I want to try :) She also uses size 3 knitting needles to knit dish/wash cloths with size 3 HH Lizbeth cotton thread and I have started one.
I am also having fun joining in with Amy's Love Made My Home blog Link up and visiting bloggers from around the world.
What have you been doing for fun?
xx

It looks like you've had a great week. You live in a lovely part of the country. Glad you enjoyed your celebrations and hope the wedding goes well.
ReplyDeleteIt does look as if you have had fun this week. I hope the wedding goes well. Have a lovely weekend:)
ReplyDeleteI remember the vast number of berry bushes in my now husband then boyfriends garden in Portland. Oregon has a great climate for berries. We ate breakfast from the bushes when I visited in summer. Keeping my fingers crossed the wedding goes all to plan this weekend. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week you've had! Lovely pictures - love seeing the blue sky and puffy clouds.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the wedding! Have a great weekend
What a lovely cheery five. Just love holly hocks although I never succeed in growing them. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYou had a lovely week. Fireworks over water must have been beautiful. Such a pretty place to celebrate the 4th of July. The hollyhocks are gorgeous and the berries make my mouth water. Lucky you! Sounds like you have some good "yarn" projects going. Have a fun week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely celebration you have had with your family. I remember holly hocks from my childhood. I've knitted socks but never on a circular needle. The Lizbeth cotton looks so pretty as does the washcloth you're making. Have a wonderful weekend, Pat xx
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to host a wedding at your home. Sounds like you are going to be busy. The napkin rings look wonderful, really quite effective.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely enjoyable week. I hope the wedding goes well and you have another great week next week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week you have had my friend. I like the napkin rings you're crocheting. What a special little touch. I just bought a set of 9 inch circulars about three weeks ago for making socks. I have a sock on it, but I'm having a difficult time adjusting to those tiny, tiny needles. I always seem to go back to my DPN's. I'm glad your week is been a good one. Love and miss you sweet Gracie.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
It looks so peaceful in your corner of the world. Those berries look delishous too. Have a lovely weekend. Leah x
ReplyDeleteHaving fun with you would be better than doing housework like we've been doing! That beautiful water is calling my name too. Thanks for a view of what fun looks like.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely week you have had, a great day out with Teresa! I hope that the wedding goes really well and that you and everyone else has great fun! Enjoy the berries! Thank you for joining in Five On Friday, I hope you have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteNothing better than an old-fashioned family 4th. Love being near the water. Hollyhocks! Just can't get them to grow here.
ReplyDeleteThe fun I've been having is swimming with you! See you soon at the regular pool. That home where you spent the 4th of July looks fantastic.. I'd love to live right on the river. Your Hollyhocks and roses look divine! The weather forecast sure is less than happy, isn't it? See you soon! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are surrounded by so much beauty! I love Wisconsin, but a few mountains would be nice!
ReplyDeleteI tried 9-inch needles for socks. I love the idea, but they hurt my hands. Who knows? They might be perfect for you!
What a good time you had this week. I'm staying busy by staying home all day and didn't do much but it felt so good. Am needing to make a batch of cookies this weekend. Hopefully Phil can figure out what is going on with our washing machine. It may be the timer. It still works but not quite right. Sigh and it's only 5 years old. I've seen Mt. Hood from here as well. Looking forward to our beach trip, coming up soon. Hugs and have a blessed weekend my friend and hope the wedding goes well at your house!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a wonderful time Gracie. Have a lovely wedding at your house.

Wow, you live in a gorgeous area. Your photos are stunning. What are Marion berries? Must be local to your region? They remind me of blackberries. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend & the wedding goes well.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you and Teresa are able to get together. Best wishes for the wedding today.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Hosting a wedding at your house sounds like a lot of work...but I'm sure it has been a wonderful time as well! Glad you had a happy 4th! Nice to see the fireworks over the lake! Great shot of the sailboats also.

Well, hello! So glad you commented on my blogpost. I see you are in Oregon, but closer to the NW corner (I assume)than we will be when we move. We are headed to the Bend area in about two months. Our kids moved there the end of March and we are following them. So excited! Have a ton of packing yet to do, and I haven't been doing much else. Of course i's hot here in Tucson and we are staying indoors most of the time. So glad to find you on the blogs!
