Saturday, with plans in place to be ready for the baby's arrival, I met my blogging friend, Teresa, at an Asian restaurant in Sandy, Oregon. I told Teresa I had finished the baby cocoon blanket and she was disappointed I did not bring it to show her, but I did bring the hat I started that is part of the cocoon blanket set. I was concerned that the hat would be too small, and Teresa agreed that I should rip out some rows and increase the crown of the hat. After a yummy meal and good conversation we ventured off to Designer Yarns and managed to get out of the store without buying anything....What???
Then we set out to take photos of Mt. Hood and the surrounding area. There are many commercial nurseries and farms nearby and the autumn colors were wonderful!
Have you been having grand times, too?
It sounds like a perfect way to spend your day, being with your darlings girls, visiting with your special friend and seeing gorgeous views. But no yarn? Well that would have made it super perfect.

Hello Gracie, How exciting that the new baby will be arriving soon...What glorious photos of the Autumn colors and especially Mt Hood.. Love them... We had a grand time with our Grandchildren this past weekend too.. Hugs and have a great week. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a nice weekend, Gracie. I'm so excited to hear all about the new baby when she arrives! I'm glad you had a good time being watched by the others. :) We've had a good weekend, mostly sticking close to home and getting some things done. This afternoon, I stripped all three beds, washed all the blankets and put everything back on clean. I'm excited to go to bed tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, your little clutch and girlies are so cute! It was fun to see your different take on our day yesterday.. it was great for me to get out, I had cabin fever! I'm feeling better today, too.. we got a LOT of fresh air! :-) Keep us informed as to the arrival of Rosie! I'm working on her booties today. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you and Teresa got some lovely pictures of your afternoon. The fall colors are amazing! I can tell Grandma, that you are anxious for this little one to make an appearance. Soon that baby will be in the midst of all the fun happy times the others are having in your photos. How blessed they are to have your kind and loving spirit for a grandma.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Such an exciting time for you all, wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Sounds like baby's arrival is coming soon. Lovely photos but I'm disappointed in you girls not making any yarn purchases, Not sure I would have had that much will power. :-)
ReplyDeleteGrand times are great !! You have lovely grandchildren. I am still a mom of ten-year-old ...enjoying that right now:)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that there'll be a new grand baby wrapped in that blanket any day soon :)
ReplyDeleteGracie, I love the way you keep feeding us with glorious colours of autumn. In the UK the fungi in the first picture is called a purple russala. I love a bit of 'shroom spotting! Would love to see your finished cocoon. Keep making. Jo x
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've been having really grand times Gracie - such lovely happy pics of your Grandies and of the beautiful and colourful tree foliage. How lovely that you could also fit in time to spend with your good friend, but how did you ever come out of that store without new yarn - that is incredible!
ReplyDeleteYou are obviously very excited at the prospect of the sweet little new addition to your family - I'm looking forward to hearing the great news also!
Take good care of yourself, warm hugs and blessings,
Joy xo
Your granddaughters look as though they are having the time of their lives. And, it looks like they took great care of you. :-) Your fall photos are so pretty and an afternoon with a treasured friend is always a treat. I hope the new addition arrives soon. Have a wonderful day. Heather
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely autumny pictures. Bet you can't wait for the baby to come. Does Mt hood have snow all year round.
ReplyDeleteEven when it is in the 80s or 90s down here in the valley there is some snow on Mt. Hood. My mind kind of flips the mountain over and I start having a yen for a snow cone to help me cool off :) But by the end of summer there is considerably less snow than during the rest of the year.
DeleteHello Gracie it's so lovely to see your Autumn colours you don't get anything as magnificent as that here! The Grand's looking as if they are having a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a picture sometime of your dog overlooking the sea.

I'm in love with all the colours of the leaves, especially the one 11th photo (if I counted right?) where it looks like a rainbow. Absolutely stunning!

Those photos are breath-taking, Gracie! Amazing fall colors. I love the close-up of Mt. Hood, where you can see the glaciers. And your grand-daughters are having so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYou read about my 'grand' times. None of my grands live nearby so I treasure each moment I have with them. Wow! Mt. Hood has so much snow on it--unusual for October. I hear you've been having grand weather too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Autumn colours and the photos with the mountain in background are stunning. Your garden is certainly a fun place for the Grand children Gracie.
