Color Crazed

Mt. Hood from the corner of Orient Drive and Waybill Rd.

My favorite coloring book!

It has been gray and rainy outside today, but I feel happily drenched in color from absorbing the colors around me over the last few days!

The Rhododendrons are displaying their brilliant pinks and reds!  Mt. Hood stood majestically white against hazy blue skies when I took a roundabout way home on Thursday from a meeting; and  I finished knitting a variegated dishcloth in purples and greens this evening.

Around Mother's Day I got a copy of Inspire, the NLT Bible that has lots of black and white sketches to color.  So far I have used woodless colored pencils, fiber tipped ink pens, and watercolor on the opening pages. I find it very exciting work/play/meditation!

Yesterday I enjoyed listening to some knitting podcasts that Betsy and Kris told me about, and I explored the knitting tutorial for socks that Kris has successfully used. Maybe I will eventually be able to finish the magic loop socks I started several years ago if I watch the tutorial enough times...maybe :)

Tonight I watched a movie about the French artist, Seraphine, then I did a Google search to see more of her work...fantastic colors!  Do click HERE to see her work!

Do you ever feel color crazed?

Gracie xx

  1. Lots of loveliness. I'm gonna have to create some color craze with crochet as it is very drab and dusty here today. Have a good Sunday.

  4. Hello Gracie.. I'm glad you're having such a colorful time! After so much pretty sunshine we're having a few dim days. But I'll try to let you inspire me today to get colorful today. My get up and go got up and went. Hope to see you in the pool soon. Lost 8 lbs! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. We're having some gray days too, but that's okay. The rain is needed if we're going to avoid the fires of last year. I loved all of the beautiful photos you showed us. I've never seen a coloring Bible before. How fun! I'm glad you're enjoying the podcasts. I'm sitting here in the trailer, listening to rain on the roof and I have the pretty dishcloth you made me hanging right here on the sink. Purples and greens. I love it. Thank you my sweet Gracie.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. I feel color crazed this week with my rhody bush so lovely. Remembering all the lovely colors in the tulip fields and enjoy looking at my photos many times because of just that! Nice coloring books for you. I need to color in mine as well. I subscribed to DO magazine and only have colored a portion of one. Sigh. and my sis gave me a Mary Engelbreit coloring book as part of my birthday gift. I enjoy her work. It's been chilly and rainy here Sat and today. Maybe more on Monday...back to long sleeved shirts again. Oh well, it's Oregon. Your Mt Hood photos are lovely! Have a blessed week, my friend!

  8. Your local Photos of Mt Hood are stunning, you are certainly blessed living in such a beautiful part of the world. I am afraid time does not allow for listening to podcasts at the moment as I have not only my own garden but my parents garden to keep on top of, its such a busy time of year.

  9. Good morning Gracie. I hope you had a nice weekend. We have some clouds and cool weather here today in southern California so no colors today! The photos you shared of Mt Hood are so beautiful. And I love the colors of the cloth you knitted. I'm excited to learn about the Bible you received as a gift. I looked it up on Amazon and its fantastic. I've put it on my wish list. Enjoy your day, Pat xx

  10. I do sometimes feel color crazed! It happens to me a lot, actually. I love color, and enjoy playing around with color schemes in my crafting and decorating. They probably get tired of me at Hobby Lobby because I have a habit of taking down bolts of fabric and skeins of yarn and laying them out to look at them, then putting them away without buying anything. I just like to look. Hope you're having a good week so far, Gracie. :)
