Stormy Seaside Scrapping

Hi, All!  Thanks for coming to visit.  Four fabulous days on the Oregon Coast with good friends truly did fly by as we worked on our scrapbooks, ate out several times, shopped a bit, and enjoyed our surroundings and visiting with each other.

During our stay, a series of storms continued to roll in from the West over the waves.  We had one blinding flash of lightning followed within seconds by a mighty crack of thunder, but our power just flickered and the  steady flames in the gas fireplace provided welcome warmth.

We laughed a lot, shared some tears and our faith in God, prayed, listened to upbeat music, and made progress on all of our projects.  I finally finished my granddaughter, Rosie's first year album [she is now 28 months old]!

Three deer visited the yard of the house where we were staying, and between storms we saw a rainbow over the ocean, and one colorful sunset.

One of my friends and I also enjoyed knitting: she on dishcloths, and I on the current preemie blanket I am knitting with Lion Brand 100% acrylic Creme Glacee Helado yarn on my size six KnitPicks circular knitting needles.

Now home again, I'm enjoying our one perfect Camellia blossom, and I had fun swimming laps in the pool for an hour this afternoon with Teresa.

I got permission to share a photo with you of my precious new little California friend, Ian, modeling the baseball cap I crocheted for him, too :)

My week is off to a great start!  How is your week progressing?

  6. It sounds like a lovely time Gracie. And I see one of the places you ate was Mo's. Mmmmmm. They make the best clam chowder and homemade bread. I can taste it now. I'm glad you got Rosie's book finished. It looks as though it will hold a lot of memories for her. Your blanket is also very pretty and will keep a little baby very warm. How fun to spend a few days with friends chatting and crafting. Maybe someday I'll be blessed enough to participate with you. Even though I don't scrapbook, I could visit with the rest of you. That little cutie looks very handsome in his hat that you made him. Hope to see you soon. Lots of love.
    Blessings, Betsy

  7. Your retreat sounds and looks wonderful. I didn't know you were a scrapper! I did a lot of scrapbooking when my children were growing up, but probably won't do any more unless I have grandchildren (and that is nowhere on the horizon). I love your pages for their simplicity and the hand-lettering.

  8. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of the story of your time at the beach that you told me as we swam back and forth yesterday. It brought it all to life for me! I love the photo of the deer relaxing in the yard. How cute is that. I'm so ready to get back to the beach during my birthday, I miss it very much. I want to try that shrimp stuffed avocado that you told me about! :-) I'm going to work on my blanket today and relax. Yesterday was very busy for me. I need a day off! LOL! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Hello Gracie. Your time at the sea sounds wonderful and I long to go away - especially to the sea as I find it restorative. DH and I are trying to get a few days away. The baby is so cute and I love his cap. My week started with taking my elderly Aunt shopping yesterday - not easy and I felt terribly tired last night. However the news re my new great nephew was more encouraging so that was good. I've been making Easter cards today. Hugs Anne x
