Winter Project Link Party At Thistlebear: November

I am so excited that Jennifer organized this Link Party, and I decided to try to participate!  After a month I can see that I am making progress on my three main projects. In fact, I got out my measuring tape and measured the width of my blue Super Blanket.  The finished width is supposed to be 56" and I have 26" inches completed so far :)  That means I am almost half way done!  Woohoo!  The blanket is big enough now that it helps keep me warm when I am working on it.
Keeping warm is becoming more important to me as the weather is sliding from Fall toward Winter and I am noticing more and more snow on Mt. Hood when it peeks out under the clouds.  It is sporting a thicker and thicker blanket of glorious white snow. [I stopped at 232nd and 212 to snap these photos on the way home from a meeting Nov. 6th]
When I tried on my Ruby Shawl  today the tip of the shawl is at my waist so I will soon start crocheting the ruffle. It will be wonderful when the shawl can keep my shoulders warm instead of my lap :)

The baby blanket I am knitting had a bit of set back when I had to rip out some rows this week, but it is getting bigger.

How are your projects coming along?

Cheering you on,
Gracie xx

  1. Wow, Gracie.. your blue blanket is magnificent and big and wonderful! I forgot who you're making it for? 2. Gracie your blanket is looking beautiful! Your shawl looks like a twin of Teresa's. Did I miss something? Did you use the same yarn? It's looking wonderful too. Gorgeous pictures of Mt. Hood. I have a sneaking feeling that Mt. Spokane could have some snow on it too even though it's much, muchlower the Mt. Hood. However, it's been so cloudy I can't get a peek at it to see if it has a cap of white yet! Have a wonderful weekend my sweet friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. This link party is definitely keeping us on track with our projects, it's a great way of keeping us all enthusiastic. Your blanket is looking great, I love it when it gets to the point where it keeps us warm whilst we're working. What a beautiful view of the mountain, especially when it's covered in snow.

  9. All of your projects are looking so lovely..and that Mt. Hood is beautiful. I do love both of your projects. What yarn are you using for that gorgeous blue blanket. I love your Ruby Shawl, but I think that I am not such an accomplished crocheter as you are. Have a lovely Sunday. It has been raining here, dark and I am still trying to get used to the time change. Ha!

  16. A whole sofa of woolly goodness! It looks very inviting. It's a good idea to have some smaller projects on the go alongside a blanket. My problem is doing too many smaller projects and not sticking with the blankets!

  19. Enjoyed your photos of the beautiful mountain. It sounds and looks like you are making great progress on your crocheting and knitting projects! I'm sure your blue super blanket will come in handy this winter! I often layer on sweaters, but sometimes it just takes a blanket to get the job of staying warm done.

Your photos are just too awesome Gracie!! I love seeing all the different landscapes through your eyes. Such beauty! I have to say it though, snow already? What in the world are those mountains thinking??

  22. Lovely blanket!! :) You have a great view of mountain and inspiration to crochet more after seeing the snow:)
Winters in south of India are very mild with min temp going to just 8-12 C . We need some warm clothes only in the early morning or late night if outside. We do use blanket but soft fleece ones are enough that too just for 2months.
