Bunny Business!

My grandson Aron's bunny is ready to hop into a box and travel from Oregon to New York to take up residence with him!  I was so pleased that when Aron saw a photo of the bunnies I made for his cousins, he asked me to make one for him, too.  Aron at the age of seven recently earned his black belt in Tai Kwon Do.  I find that amazing; and I find it especially endearing that he wanted me to make him a bunny!

Last Spring my good friend, Taci, at her Knit Nite told me about the free pattern I used to make Aron's bunny. I loved using the alpaca yarn I purchased in Missouri recently to knit the bunny.  The alpaca fiber produces a wonderful soft halo that begs to be admired and touched, and the pattern is so simple and clever.  You knit a 10"x10" square and then baste in stitches in a triangular shape that when pulled together form the bunny!

My oldest daughter walked into my living room today, saw the bunny, and asked, " Oh, is that Aron's bunny?  He's going to love it!"  Then she picked up the bunny, gave him some happy hugs and exclaimed, "I want one, too!"

So maybe I am in the Bunny Business :-)

What kind of business are you into?

Gracie xx

    1. Well, I ended up going swimming for half an hour, washed and dried my hair, and walked out to the car in the rain with no umbrella or raincoat :) Hmmmmm...
I am thinking of driving over to Depoe Bay Monday morning, spend the night in a motel and drive back Tuesday afternoon before dark.
[I still have the travel bug I think!] xx

  11. Gracie your bunny is so sweet. I love the yarn and how soft it looks. Dennis and I actually looked at a alpaca farm once but it was waaay out of our price range. Alpaca is one of my favorite yarns to knit with and thought it would be nice to have an unlimited supply. :-). Your grandbabies certainly know their grandma loves them.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  14. Hi Gracie, I love your sweet little bunny too. Thanks for your lovely comment over at mine. Oregon is a place I would love to visit...the countryside looks stunning.
I'm so glad you have been doing some sketching too. My pencils have been a bit neglected lately, but I never have enough hours in the day to do all the creative things I would like to [ she says defensively :0)]
Well done on the swimming...great exercise.

  20. Adorable bunny, Gracie. You are talented at making toys! I finally finished my first knitted toy and oh what travails and gnashing of teeth was involved! Not my forte, now I know. But it came out fine - I managed to embroider a kindly expression on the teddy's face. I was so afraid I would create a grumpy bear! Xox

I absolutely love when somebody - especially my kids ask me to make something for them ... I usually stop everything I'm doing and go tend to their request. So happy you r in the bunny business now my dear friend Gracie. Have a good weekend.

  26. Aww I love the bunny! Boys can really surprise you can't they? You sort of (probably wrongly) expect them to be into mud, fighting or playing cars all the time, but they have a real soft side too :-)
