Snow Storm Orion!!!

Joy, Jason, Molly, Mary and Hayley

Molly and Joy!
As I type, we are in the middle of receiving Snow Storm Orion near the base of Mt. Hood in Boring, Oregon!  The forecast is for another wave of snow this afternoon.  Schools are closed along with some public transport.  I know some of my Midwest and Northeast family and friends think we are crazy to be so excited and distracted with such an event, but it is a rarity down here in the valley...and at the moment it is beautiful!  I am off to make some hot chocolate almond milk and knit :)

Hoping you are having a happy day, too, whether your weather is hot or cold!

Gracie xx

  1. Fun photos of your family, Gracie!! Kristi also took our two little guys out for some snow fun. I just posted, too. I think some hot cocoa is in order around our farmhouse! And I'm going to crochet, too. See you in the pool when the snow melts! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Me three! I just put Piper down for her nap, made a cup of hot chocolate and brought out my crocheting. Great minds think alike. Apparently we got four inches of snow at home last night too. More today and for the next four days. I guess coming to Portland to avoid the snow wasn't the best idea. :-). It is interesting to see the mass panic over a few inches of snow. We don't usually cancel school at home until there are at least 10-12 inches of snow-and not always then either. Your pictures are just too precious Gracie. The whole family looks as though they are having a wonderful time.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. We get similarly excited when it snows! It hasn't snowed at all this year in southern England - instead we are awash. We are fine, but parts of the country are flooded out. It has been a strange weather year all over!

  15. Lovely photos of your grandchildren enjoying their ride :) we get snow only in Himalayan regions in India. I have been there with my family on vacation when my daughter was 2 years old. It was good for two days and after that we said; ' its enough now, lets go back to sunny place ' :)

  25. I totally understand the excitement and do envy you that snow ... I love the stuff but, as Gillian says, all we're getting in the UK is rain. The girls look to be having a fabulous time :)

Almond milk hot chocolate sounds luscious ... do you have a particular recipe?
