High Summer Delights

Since friends and members of our family flew home last week, we have made a flurry of calls and texts  to make sure all landed safely and just to savor the delight we experienced in the time we were together.

Mt. Hood is still Mt. Hood, but a little less snowy.  Grasses are growing, and waving and drying and flowers wild and cultivated are blooming and being plucked during warm sunny days.

Trees are growing in all sorts of fantastic shapes and patterns in the nurseries that surround us.  Sheep and goats rest in the shade.

And little Grand Girls and their mom delight in the cool water spray from the garden hose, while I snap some photos of them, knit one more row on a blue dishcloth, and wave at my youngest little Grand, Joy, and she waves back at me.

High summer delights, indeed!

What are your delights these days?

Gracie xx

  3. Hello Gracie. What a delight to come online this morning and see the beautiful photos you have posted- they and your family are quite delightful. I was also delighted by all the comments you had left me. That must have taken a while! I didn't expect you to comment on all my posts as I know you have been very busy - but it is lovely that you have and I truly enjoyed reading them all. More delights for me as this morning we are off to meet up with my D.I.L. at a point halfway between our homes and we will bring my grandsons back here for a few days. We are also going to spend some time with my granddaughters so that 'the cousins' get to spend time together.
Hope there are more delights in store for you this week. Love and hugs Anne x

PS I managed the Bloglovin stuff more by luck than judgement :-) x

  5. Oh that little wave just makes my heart sing, your family are beautiful!
My delight at the moment is time, time to be with my girls and husband (he doesn't often get a mention because he's blog averse), time to blog, time to cook and time to make.
    Heaven.

  11. Those photos do express delight indeed! And of course I thank you for keeping me up to date with Mt. Hood. Just recently I've noticed how the trees in Aberdeen are heavy with their seeds, and the green is that bit less vivid than in early summer. There's a little bit of a sense of a turning on the horizon. But we have more summer ahead of us, hooray!

  12. Oh, oh, oh ... Mt. Hood is so beautiful, especially with that golden wheatfield stretched out below it and the dark green firs in between.

Those tall twisted green trees (must be a tree farm?) look like a convocation of wizards....

What a beautiful collection of photos.

Our delights right now are: mild days after a week of intense heat, and fresh tomatoes and herbs from the planters. :)
