This week I have been harvesting various views of my life. One day I sat in my car at a Sandy parking lot and munched on lunch while enjoying the autumnal colors on the trees and bushes. Then when I got home I was excited to note that the front pond has enough water in it that Mr. and Mrs. Mallard came to swim and dive for food! Walking toward the front door of the house I looked down on our gravel drive and saw one of our mystery nuts next to some moss. My daughters are indignant that our resident squirrels chuck nuts down from our mystery tree on anyone who gets too near! Do you know what kind of nut it is? Soon after clicking a picture of the nut I heard geese flying over head. Can you spot the little trace marks in the sky? Also, this week I have been pondering the contents of a book by Graham Cooke, and Thursday morning I enjoyed getting together with some women at church to discuss a section of Graham's book which prompted us to wrestle with what being Christ followers means in our lives. Here and there throughout the week I have been crocheting a little pumpkin and a gourd using Teresa's pattern as the basis for my stitching. And Friday night I had the fun of joining with others to shout "surprise" to a young friend to help celebrate her birthday. What views have you harvested this week? xx from Gracie
A lovely Autumnal Post. I love ducks a dabblling. My Partner reads about 'Chem Trails' in the sky there are all sorts of conspiracy theories about them...we have loads of chem trails in the sky. It is lovely to have a group of you to discuss your reading and thoughts. I think your nuts may be Macadamia...Google Images and see what you think? Naughty Squirrels. lol One of Teresa's Pumpkins is on my list of UFO's I am struggling to make this simple, cute pumpkin! Doh. Your bastket of Pumpkins look lovely. So much to think about and comment on in a relatively short post today. Thanks for sharing. (((Hugs)))xxx

ReplyDeleteFall is upon us and your pictures show it beautifully. My guess on the nut is some type of walnut. Have a wonderful weekend. Heather

Shari!
Hello Gracie! I'm finally home and have some time to catch up on my favorite blogs, and of course, yours is at the top of my list! I just loved this post! Love the autumnal photos and that your pond is filling up and I gasped in appreciation of your basket of crocheted pumpkins with your tea and the pretty carpet behind it all.. and I think that is a walnut in it's husk. It's pouring down rain over here!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Hi Gracie,
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning pictures you have for us today! Your crocheted pumpkins, (and gourd), turned out wonderfully and you chose a beautiful way to arrange them. Your discussion group sounds lovely. I have often wished for a group like that to join in with. I sure wish I lived closer to you and Teresa. What fun we could have together! :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I love all the autumnal/fall shades in them....in fact they have helped to focus my mind back on some weaving that I have planned.
ReplyDeleteHope you continue to have a good weekend x x
I love your pictures, they are truly lovely! :) Aww the pumpkins are adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteblessings always
Sounds like a lovely week. I'd be interested to know more about Graham Cooke, and your thoughts on him. I've just finished reading "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteLove the Autumn colours and the gentle light shining through. Can't help with the nut. Feels strange reading about your studying of Graham Cooke's books when it does not feel that long since we were so involved with him - it is though - mid 90's.
ReplyDeleteI love the story your images tell us.....
ReplyDeleteIm harvesting a VIEW of change.....Im leaving the night shift in January.....and I'll be floating to a few other floors as a nurse. Last night I was floated to the newborn nursery and had a preview of my new role....it was sweet and fun! I harvested smiles from all the happy relatives that peered into the nursery window searching for their new little ONES
What lovely photos and inspiring ideas. Thank you so much for your kind comments about my life and of course William over in CHalky's World. I really do appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteKindest regards Linda
Is this a nut from the tree we were trying to identify when I visted last? I'll have to look at it when I come (in only 10 days, yippeee!!) and see if I can figure it out this time. :)
