"I started photographing my domestic world and writing not just about what I had made,
but why I made it, examining the thoughts that accompany creativity and the act of making."

Time with Teresa

After completing a list of errands I drove out past Corbett, Oregon, to the Portland Women's Forum Viewpoint.

Although it was a misty day, the sight was still magnificent and mysterious...beckoning to be explored and enjoyed.

It reminded me of sights my husband and I saw in 1975 when we flew to South Korea to
visit the children we hoped to adopt.

In Corbett I stopped to take a picture of this sign that displays Teresa Kasner's artistry.

Then I drove to find Teresa and Dayle's farm which includes this pear tree,

this barn Dayle designed and built with the help of Teresa, their kids and a contractor who poured the foundation.

Autumn is gently showing up as the landscape tries out different color schemes, and I felt welcomed

as I first glimpsed the lovely old blue farmhouse peeking out at me from among the trees,

and I felt welcomed by the chuckling waterfall,

and Teresa who prepared a wonderful lunch for us to enjoy!

I brought baskets and candlesticks and UK Country Living Magazines and my computers
and knitting and crocheting to play with at Teresa's and I got to play with Teresa's dollhouse,
and Buddy [Dog] and greet Lucy [Cat] and visit with Dayle a bit before and after he ran
some errands, AND as I was leaving Teresa gave me some Coastal Living magazines to read
and a  formal introduction to the Girls [Hens]!

When I started blogging I had no idea how much fun I could have...how very blessed I would
feel as I meet other bloggers through their blogs and now Teresa face to face!  If you have not
already, I hope you will visit Teresa's blog and enjoy her beautiful view of the world around
her.

Remember if you want a chance to receive a little giveaway from me in celebration of my first
year of blogging and in thanks to those of you who interact with me, just leave a comment
on one of my posts this month, before September 30, 2012.

Are you having fun blogging :)   xxx from Gracie

  1. Oooh fun times! I wish I could have joined the two of you. I had no idea that it was Teresa's handiwork on those scenic byway signs that I see when I visit the Portland area.

My granddaughter is officially one day late today. If she ever makes an appearance I'm hoping to be able to meet you and Teresa for lunch in the next few weeks. It will be such fun to meet face-to-face!

Have a wonderful weekend. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you how much I love your pictures today. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l.

    1. Lucy, you know how blogging is fun... well it is, but after posting the post you read and kindly commented on, I went back into the post to try to correct some spacing issues. DISASTER!!! It got so scrambled I deleted the whole thing and at 2:30AM quit and went to bed, vowing to wrestle with Blogger later:) Oh my... I am putting your name in the drawing for your comment that disappeared, too! Thank you for typing to me!!!
This post is having alignment issues also...I am still trying to understand what commands I have given Blogger that has set it in a tizzy. xxx from Gracie

  8. Hi Gracie, thanks for entering my giveaway and inviting me to enter yours, what fun! I missed your giveaway post, I'm sorry. I love the way blogging brings all different sorts of people from all over the world into contact with each other.

That barn is so pretty, so different to the ones we have here; so typically American, it makes me think of Little House on the Prairie!

  9. That looks like a great visit, and what a talent Teresa has - for signs and life in general. Today we had a Bloggers' Get-Together in Aberdeen. We were also marvelling over how the internet has the power to help like-minded souls to find one another.

As an adoptive mother, I was interested to read about your trip to South Korea. I do have faith that things turn out as they were meant to, especially if we're trying to listen for God's guidance. But sometimes it's really not easy.

  10. It sounds like you had a great visit. I read Teresa's post of your visit and now yours put another spin on it. The trees and the waterfull....wonderful. I think it's wonderful that you have a blogger friend so close by.

I'm glad this post finally made it. It wasn't there yesterday when I tried to read it. Hope things are working better for you today.

    Hugs,
    Sharon
