Making Hay While the Sun Shines

Dry, hot, hazy...

evidently a good day to bale the hay

and appreciate snow melted from Mt. Hood to provide water for
cattle

and crops

and children

and Grandmums who like to take pictures,
[and try to knit tomatoes.]

Happy Weekend!

  1. Hi Gracie,
I am back from the lake, and catching up. I was without my computer for a week or so because my power cord blew up!!! I missed blogging! I read back about your visit to the aquarium. How fun!! When my husband was in college, he worked part time in a fish aquarium shop. He had several aquariums, and set two up for me at my home. I had sea horses in one, and I loved them!!!! We love to visit big aquariums. Loved seeing your daughters family too. I enjoyed hearing about your recollection of the first man on the moon. You graduated when my Uncle did. 1969.
I loved your current post too. You have such a grateful heart. I love to see what you write about in your journal. Your blog makes me smile!
    XO Kris

  5. With that fantastic weather I would have thought you could have grown tomatoes...things must be pretty bad if you have taken to knitting them! How to they fare for flavour? :) xxx

  6. Hi Gracie another lovely post such stunning photos. We have been enjoying some warm weather here which is good. The magazine I always have each weekhas patterns for knitted vegetables. I'm just not sure what I would do with them once I'd knitted them. Anne x

  8. Don't you just love those rhythms of life that repeat everywhere?! There is glorious sunshine and some mention of harvest/hay bales on almost every northern hemisphere blog I visit just now.

  10. Beautiful photos - such a treat for me to see my old friend Mt. Hood on the horizon! Here the farmers make round hay bales. Interesting about the making a wish tradition, they do that in Scotland too.
