Perfectly Imperfect

Thank you for your kind comments and
thoughts and prayers for me yesterday.
I appreciated each one.
Yesterday was a good day.
I worked on:

The Pattern:
the one I have hauled back and forth across the USA for 31 years,
and, well...
I am not following it :)

But I am having so much fun
playing around with
the general idea of it,
with the Lucy Pack colors!

I am trying to figure out
how to create squares...
[the math/stitch ratio behind it]
to make squares in single crochet without too many holes.

If I were following the pattern
I would need to make 12 of
each one of 8, 5 1/2" squares.

The 8 squares I've stitched together may be donated
to keep a grand girl's
doll warm.

Recently when visiting a Popular Blog
I noted the Blogger had included
a picture of a quilt she had made
and was using.

It showed a crooked seam and
pucker in the stitching,
but not one word did she type about the
imperfection,
nor did any of the many commenters.

Doing one's best is a worthy goal,
I think;
but knowing when something is
perfectly imperfect,
ready to love and be loved,
is the most worthy goal
I am aiming for,
I think.

What do you think?

xx to you from Gracie

  1. I love that you are trying new things, using your creativity. Everything I make is imperfect, and that is fine with me. Some things work, others don't and that is okay.
    Hugs to you sweet Gracie,

  2. Love your attitude! We can't worry about every little imperfection, or we would never be able to enjoy our wares!!!
    Love the squares!!!

  3. I like that (the quilt and what you took away from the other blogger)! In art school we used to have what we called, "happy accidents". They tend to keep things interesting and authentic. :)

  4. I think that every handmade thing has a few "oopsies" - that's what makes it art! :-) You are going to so enjoy that blanket!
    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  6. What a special name! I am a new follower. I usually make an error in every crochet project but only I know. Sometimes imperfection makes a project special.

  7. I love your blanket - it looks like a stained glass window. Imperfection does not matter, it is the time and love you put into a project that counts.
