Tulip Time

Late this afternoon the rain stopped, the sun came out, and my oldest daughter, the grand girls and I bolted to the car. My oldest daughter drove us 40 miles southwest of here to view the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, 40 acres of tulips and other lovely bulbs in bloom !

We had come just 30 minutes before the farm closed, but even so were refreshed by viewing so many beautiful blooms in one location.

If you have never visited Jane Brocket's Blog, Yarnstorm, I think you will enjoy visiting her there.  At the moment she is posting stunning photos of tulips and other bulbs blooming in her native England and other nearby areas.
Beyond that she has published a number of worthy books and giftedly writes about her many interests including knitting, cooking, crocheting, quilting, gardening, wine, and reading.

Are you enjoying viewing the blooms around you, too?

  2. There is something so stunning about so seeing so many together in one place! Like the Texas Bluebonnets that span acres of farm land, and our California Poppies that lay like carpets over the rolling hill sides here. Those tulips are gorgeous. And the shot of the grands in the red bench is adorable!!! I love blooms! And thank you for your sweet words regarding my bird post. I adore the magazine Birds & Blooms, but have never submitted before.
    Have a wonderful day!!!!

  4. Hi there!
TY SO much for your comments on my blog-they made me smile:)
I LOVE Wooden Shoe farm and your photos make me want to make it there before the tulip season ends (all too soon, in my mind, because I love tulips).
As for your question...I am totally and completely in love with all the blooms around me right now. It seems like everything on our land is in bloom and I LOVE it! I'm also enjoying our break from April showers, aren't you? And being warm, not having to wear a coat, listening to the frogs and having light stream through our windows.
Thanks again for your visit and for whetting my appetite for a trip to see tulips:)
    Blessings,
    Aimee
