"I started photographing my domestic world and writing not just about what I had made,
but why I made it, examining the thoughts that accompany creativity and the act of making."

First Picnic of 2012

In the stream of sunshine coming through one of the windows in my room Monday morning the grand girls spread out a blanket and decided to have a picnic !

They munched on crackers their mom provided. Then they used the cracker crumbs like grains of sand to shovel in their buckets with bit of a fuss about who got the most crumbs ; but it was a fun way to start the day ; and when the temperature reached 55 degrees we all made it outside . I drove to the indoor pool to swim laps ; my son-in-law mowed some of the grass ; and the rest of the family gathered around the campfire ring to burn some of the branches that fell during the winter storms ; and then we roasted hot dogs and had a chilly first picnic for 2012 ! <3
