Delightful Daffodils & Disastrous Desk & Planting Pansies & Spindle Spinning

Early Wednesday the grand girls and their mom brought two vases full of fragrant sunny daffodils into my room! The eldest GG took this picture.

But although I enjoyed the daffodils all day long, I spent most of my day digging out my desk . . . Ugh

Today I finished up that project . . . Yea !
Then the grand girls , their mom and I planted pansy seeds and some wheat grass.

As you can see the grand girls took their gardening very seriously. After their nap the eldest came racing in to check on the seeds' status and reported to me, "They aren't growed yet. It takes a long time." Indeed !

Finally in the late afternoon and evening, I read and re-read how to spin yarn with my new turkish spindle. I need a lot more practice, but this is the best success I have ever had with any of the spindles I have tried.
Have you tried to spin yarn?
Are you planning to plant seeds?
How does your desk look?

  1. Hi Grace love daffodils one of my favourite flowers. Your grand girls are beautiful. Sadly my DS doesn't want me to put photos of my granddaughters on the internet so have to respect his wishes. I have bought some potatoes to plant. I don't have a large garden but will grow them in large tub, worked well before. My desk has a lot of stuff on it at moment as I've had to clear a space for my grandson to get to his bed when he visits this weekend :-) Anne x

    1. Your DS may be wise in his request . . . it is a concern that I have as well and my eldest DS tries to be very careful with what he allows on the internet , too . Growing potatoes in a tub sounds very clever ! I hope you will share a picture . I hope you have a good visit with your grandson ! . . . a good reason for a cluttered desk !

  2. Hi Gracie, sorry for the delay in commenting.. I've been buried in busy-ness. My desk looks like a episode of "Hoarders". :-) Seriously! But the good thing is it's only that room where it's a disaster. I keep thinking of working on it.. but then.. life gets in the way. It's our anniversary today!
    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. My nasturtium seeds haven't growed yet either! :D I just love how earnest (and serious) your little gardeners are! And your desk, let me tell you, looks tame compared to the absolute disaster that's my so-called desk! lol Some day I'll try to find what's buried under these stacks of papers, magazines and balls of yarn. :)
