My granddaughters[ages 7 and 5] and I went for a walk around the ponds and they helped me take some photos. |
We saw some blossoms .... their names unknown to us |
...we haven't looked for their names yet... [do you know them?], |
and blossoms we recognized as wild cherries |
some from the enormous wild cherry tree near our house |
and some lambs ear [I planted a start from my friend Paula's house in San Jose, CA] |
Then on Saturday all four grand girls went hunting for eggs :) |
I got some tulips from the grocery store. |
And this morning I sewed in the ends on another baby hat I knit. |
Lovely mystery flowers and I can't even identify them! Sweet to see miss baby walking and hunting eggs. Your latest hat is a huge success.. bravo! I got my editing project done and IN THE MAIL! WOOHOO! I also got some forms filled out for the DAR state conference in May. So, it was good I took the day to finish business. Did you swim? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Sweet Gracie! I've been dodging snowflakes today! Ah! How sweet to take walks with your granddaughters. I know it's not good to be jealous...and I'm really trying to be content with my life, but I miss my kids and grandkids. I know that you know how blessed you are. And so am I. I know that.
ReplyDeleteYour room is such a comfort to me. Sounds silly I know, but I just love your nest Gracie. You've made it so homey and comfortable.
I sure hope to see you girls soon.
Blessings always,
Betsy
Lovely flowers my dear Gracie! And your hats re looking just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see young ones pick up the hobby of photography! I think it helps them enjoy and appreciate the beautiful created world even more.
ReplyDeleteLovely baby hats...
Blessings,
Aimee
I too have been spending time with family, making some wonderful memories to treasure. Love the multi-coloured hat, what a delight.
ReplyDeleteHello Gracie,
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful at this time of year to see the fresh shoots of new growth appearing everywhere. It brings such joy and hope for the year ahead. The purple flower looks to be some form of Malva, we think, but the yellow flower is a complete mystery.
What fun to organise egg hunts for your grandchildren. These days we try to avoid chocolate with respect to our ever expanding waistlines but how well we remember the thrill of Easter eggs in our childhoods. We are sure that your grandchildren will remember these days fondly long after the eggs are but a distant memory!
Dunno what those flowers are Gracie. How lovely to hunt for Easter Eggs, my two are too big for that now. No showers here in my bit of the UK, sun yipeeeeeeeee.
ReplyDeleteHi Gracie, it looks like you are enjoying precious time with your family. I'm not familiar with the flowers you showed although the yellow flower reminded me of impatiens. We still have mostly cool days, but it's warming up here slowly but surely. Have a blessed day, Heather
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've been having a lovely time, and I'm sure you've had one during the showers too. You seem to know how to make the most of your time no matter what. I enjoyed your photos. I'm glad the girls are learning to use the camera too! Take care and have a nice week, Gracie.
ReplyDeleteHi Gracie, I am ready for more sun. I love all the pictures you have taken and the fun wildflowers. The yellow one looks like Yellow Wood Violet. I have some wild Western Trillium blooming right now. Your knitted hats are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHugs diane
I love seeing pictures inside your cozy home. The flowers are beautiful with the glow of the fireplace behind them. Looks like spring is finally going to come to you!
ReplyDeleteYes, the hat looks great! Well knit!
ReplyDeleteI don't know the 'real' name of the yellow flowers. When I was a child in Oregon, we called them johnny jump ups.
Hi Gracie,
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog from Susan's,
Its delightful over here, glad to have found you! :-)
Warm regards, Love Sita
Lovely flowers!! And your hats are cute:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms, beautiful times with your family celebrating Easter and wonderful knitted hats that look just perfect. Willow is indeed and expert, and your hats look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Gracie,
Meredith
Hello Gracie. April started with my birthday ( yes the first :-)) and a lovely sunny day. I have been mostly celebrating in various ways. On Easter Sunday my eldest son and family came to visit. we have spent lovely family time with both sons, D's I L and grandchildren. There have been warm sunny days. We have our grandsons with us until Friday :-) Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to walk with the grand children and get help with taking pictures. The Easter egg hunt looks good fun, I did refuse to do one this year - the children in their twenties are just getting too old! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to see everything in bloom, Gracie. We've had lots of April showers her in NY but I don't mind at all - its washed all the snow away - Yay! I love your little hats that you made to donate. What a dear, sweet soul you are.
ReplyDeleteWe've had April showers here as well, Gracie, and I'm happy to have them! They've washed away the snow and have given the ground a good soaking. I love those sweet hats you made to donate - you're a sweet, kind soul.
ReplyDeleteA lovely walk and Easter egg hunt. No showers here. Just heat and haziness. Well done on the hats. Best wishes, Tammy
