Vistas

A zoomed in view of Vista House at Crown Point from the Women's Forum State Scenic Viewpoint
Looking northwest from Vista Point along the Columbia River
Looking east up the Columbia River from Vista Point

The rotunda has amber-green-colored glass windows and limestone walls.

Some of the trade beads Teresa Kasner brought in to display and to share about some of their interesting history.

The rose bead necklace on the board is one Teresa made as a replica of a historic one she admired.
Can you see the elevator my cane and I rode on?
Here it comes!

Surprise!
Isn't it a clever design?
I stopped at a lavender farm on the way home, and bought a little sachet.
These beautiful horses pulling a wagon surprised me while I was driving through Corbett!

After huge boulders recently fell here onto the Historic Columbia River Highway metal screens were installed to discourage further erosion.  I thought this was a neat view of the sign Teresa's sketch is on, as well!

What vistas have you been seeing lately?

Gracie xx

  5. Good morning Gracie. What beautiful views and vistas!! I am afraid I have not seen anything quite like that around here! I knew Teresa would be showing her beads. I would have loved to have come to see them.

  7. Hi Gracie, I was so pleased to see your smiling face at Vista House! Thank you so much for taking the time to come and see our trade bead display! My friend Sally said you had a beautiful smile. I'm glad you enjoyed your adventure. We saw the horse-drawn wagon when we picked up Dayle and went out to dinner with Sally - we followed it over the Stark Street Bridge! See you at swimming! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Beautiful vistas. I spent the weekend in the rural Yorkshire Dales and enjoyed the vistas and scenery there, so different to the city I live in. I do love lavender farms, I always find something to buy! x

  13. Thank you for that lovely tour. I've never been inside the Crown Point building. And the lavender!! Looks like the south of France and it must have smelled just fantastic.

  14. Great pictures Gracie! I have a weakness for anything that involves horses, so I loved the horse drawn wagon! Also enjoyed seeing the beautiful beads and historic Vista House! My hubby used to find arrowheads when he was a kid not far from where he lived--unfortunately he doesn't have them anymore.
    Enjoy your 4th of July!
    Blessings,
    Aimee
PS: No vistas lately, but lots of countryside views:)

  15. Gosh, Teresa is so talented! And your photos are breathtaking. Mountains, river, trees - so satisfying.

That elevator reminds me (for some reason) of Superman's telephone booth. :)

We have been enjoying the stunning mountain views of Colorado, and are now back in Wisconsin admiring the lush greenery.

  17. How well I remember those views along the Columbia River! Crown Point is one of my favorites.
I've seen so many vistas recently--maybe my favorite was driving to Cimarron, NM.
