Sunday afternoon in between rain showers, I drove on a side street off of Troutdale Road and saw an interesting view of Mt. Hood through a barb wire fence. Driving a little further on helped me see a cloud in the shape of an Asian straw hat over the mountain. If my research is correct, the cloud is a lenticular variety. Isn't it pretty?!
My whole weekend was pretty interesting, because I got to spend eight hours focused on artistic activities! Woohoo! Saturday I participated in an art workshop at church. The little girl sliding down the slide was drawn for me by the young girl to my right. She told me it was a picture of me delighting in life, and in God. I do! Then Sunday afternoon I was able to practice using my watercolor pencils. More practice needed, but I did have fun and am learning some basics.
Have you seen any new views lately?
Gracie xx
Oh my dear friend how fun ... And how happy I am to know you are having so much fun letting your artistic side shine... The expressions of love showing on your art. What a wonderful gift. Glad you had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful and fulfilling weekend. Hope the start to your week is going well. Take care, Heather
ReplyDeleteGracie you are a blessing, I am so glad you were able to spend wonderful time creating with lovely people. My views are changing by the minute by the new little one I have in my home.

Beautiful photos! I like your water color flowers too...looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThe workshop looks like so much fun. I would enjoy doing that too. You are really talented in so many ways, Gracie.
ReplyDeleteI love all the colour...and the sentiment! Lesley
ReplyDeleteGracie, you always take the prettiest and most interesting pictures of Mt. Hood. Love the hat! And your weekend workshop looks like so much fun! I can draw a straight line, but it looks as though God has blessed you with a beautiful talent you are using to glorify Him! How wonderful! Such a fun weekend for you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Gracie, that is so much fun to see all your artsy pursuits and the mountain too! I'm glad we got to swim together yesterday.. and I look forward to the same tomorrow. I'd love it if we do some art together. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of Mount Hood Gracie. I like having lots of time for art/creativity of any sort. At moment I am getting ready for another of my card making workshops. I am not sure how much I want to continue with these!! I spend a lot of tie working on them rather than enjoying being creative for myself. Sigh. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDelete8 hours of crafting sounds like a lovely way to spend your weekend :-) We had a beautiful rainbow last week, I suppose that counts as a nice view x
ReplyDeleteLovely time for you with the watercolours and never get tired of that gorgeous mountain.
ReplyDeleteI have seen quite a few lovely views lately ☺
Looks like you had lots of fun

How nice to be able to spend a whole day doing something you really love. You know, we found an old box of art supplies in the garage yesterday including lots of water colour pencils. My daughter has already tried them out. I should too! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of the mountain! With the trees in the for front......just breathtaking. I look to you for new views as mine are all just white and cold. Not that white isn't pretty too but the cold is getting old and it makes it difficult to get out in. We're still locked in that whole Polar Vortex thing so my views are mostly of the fireplace and spinning wheel. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to spend the weekend, Gracie! You are a very creative lady! It sounds like a lot of fun too. It is always interesting to find a new view, even of places we look at all the time. I enjoyed seeing a field full of bright crocus at the weekend!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy week.

That was a beautiful gift to receive from your young friend...and what great insight she has for one so young! I am thrilled that you are letting your artistic side shine through :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a new view of sheep in the field opposite our house, due to a tree blowing down in a recent storm. These sheep are all pregnant, so I am looking forward to the sight of lambs soon....hopefully it will signify the start of spring!
Enjoy the rest of your week, hugs Sarah x x
I love thar view of Mt. Hood, Sarah x
ReplyDeleteI love that 'hat' cloud Gracie, and all your other pics too - beautiful heartfelt prayer, and pic of you on the slide by the very perceptive young lass especially - I hope you can make more time for such colourful activities in the near future!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and yours, warm hugs, Joy xo
What a lovely & creative way to spend a day! And I love that you see so many different views of your beautiful mountain - how blessed you are to live in its shadow,
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs xx
You have reminded me that I have a very swish box of watercolour pencils that never see the light of day. It's fun to play with colour isn't it :)
