Grateful . . .

I am grateful for the beautiful Sosae Caetano hand-painted yarn I bought from her, and the pattern I found on Teresa's blog that I used to crochet this Queen Anne's Lace scarf.
I am grateful for the yellow wild iris in the pond and the ducks that dare to live there in spite of my visits to view them.
I am grateful that the rhododendrons are beginning to bloom around us.

But most of all today I am grateful that my four-year-old grandson is alive and not badly injured after having been hit by a car yesterday.  <3

    1. Thank you, Kris. We are thanking the Lord as well and asking Him to especially comfort and encourage my son, daughter-in-law, and both the boys, and to bring good out of the situation for all of those involved. Life is precious.

  2. Grace, what a shock for your family but thank God your grandson is safe. It is frightening how easily these things can happen. We all have many things to grateful for. (((Hugs))) xxx

    1. Thanks for your note and hugs, Teresa. My son and daughter-in-law are very loving and careful parents, but in his excitement about seeing a playmate his mom was taking him to meet, my grandson dashed across the street to meet him. It was near a school zone and the delivery car was thankfully not going fast. My grandson got abrasions on his arm, leg and side of his face, but no broken bones. To our family, a miracle.

  4. Wow, you save the best for last. I am so happy he is okay. I just read about an 18 year old girl who died in a car accident yesterday, she was supposed to graduate in two weeks. I am so happy your little one will be okay. I bet your blood pressure will take a while to calm down. By the way your scarf is beautiful, It is my favorite scarf pattern.
    Sending you a massive hug,
    Meredith

    1. Thanks for your note and prayers, Alexis. Yes, we are all shaken by what happened, and so grateful for the Lord's protection. My son just texted me and said that my grandson is going to pre-school today.

The scarf pattern is easy to follow even though it looks complicated. Try it! (:

  6. I am SO thankful that your little grandson wasn't badly hurt. Such a thing can happen oh so quickly; many years ago a child ran out between two cars -- in a school zone -- and I hit him. Fortunately I was going really, really, really slow and he wasn't injured. I thank God for that miracle all those years ago and for your more recent one:)
Thank you for your visit and for the honor of being on your blog list. I am grateful and humbled by it.
    God bless,
    Aimee
