Bibs to Bears

I finished this bib just in time to wrap it before the baby shower for my oldest daughter! Whew!
It is single crochets done with a 2.25 crochet hook. I have typed about the story behind the pattern here.
Many years ago I could not resist buying this bag.
My husband and I even at our thinnest were always teddy bear shaped, and this bear reminded me of him.
The teacher bear pictured on the other side of the bag reminded me of me. I have the bag on a shelf down at my nearly 3 year old grand girl's height.
This morning she was looking at the bag telling herself a story. She said one of the bear cubs was her and another was her sister and the third was her cousin. Then she whirled around and looked at me and said in amazement,
"Grandma, you're a bear!"
I KNEW IT ! <3

  2. Hello the bib is so beautiful. Have looked back at the story behind it. How clever of you to work out the pattern for it. I certainly would love to try it. I am not sure though if some of the American crochet stitches are slighty different to ours. Hope you understand what I mean. Just sure I'd read that somewhere.

Children have such wonderful imaginations don't they - how lovely to be a cuddly much loved teddy! I think that I come into the teddy bear category now!! Annex

    1. There is some difference in the understanding of crochet stitches from what I have read too, Anne, In my pattern I think what I consider single crochets, you consider double.
Being likened to a teddy bear is rather delightful in some ways (:

  4. I adore that bib! And sweet about the Teddy Bear shape.. it's a better thing to describe "fluffy" people than some of the other things people come up with! LOL! My we've both been busy, haven't we? Hope to see you soon. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
