"I started photographing my domestic world and writing not just about what I had made,
but why I made it, examining the thoughts that accompany creativity and the act of making."

In the mail, inspiration arrived...

for what I might grow in 2012...

hollyhocks like those that grow at the side door of my cousins' Stone House Farm in Massachusetts...

and daylilys like the ones that grew on the banks of the farm in Missouri...
and here in Portland, Oregon a

...yes, I'm dreaming... (:

But will I sow seeds on the path...
Or on rocky ground...
Or amidst thorns...
Or on good ground that produces a crop thirty, sixty, and one-hundredfold?

It is a question I ponder with anticipation during the first week of a new year, appreciating the wonderful advenures possible in 2012.
Happy New Year, Everyone!
